  • One of the more famous sights of the Scotland, this is Eilan Donan Scotland which is across to the west of the Highlands, just before Skye. When the weather was good last summer I decided to take a drive out to Skye and take a new camera out for a spin. It's unusual to see such bright blue skies and high temperatures, normally this area of Scotland lives up to the stereotype and is cloudy and raining.

  • The Wife got some flowers and I decided to borrow them. This is/was a soon to bloom Tulip that I set in the bay window and used a bit of back/side lighting. Of course, taken with an Olympus E-1 camera.

  • This was taken in 2003; on the way out of the park, I saw a whole bunch of photographers gathering on this spot along the Merced river, looked back in my mirror and saw the sun setting on the top of El Capitan; with my heart pumping at full speed, I stopped the car and set my tripod + camera + split ND filter and captured a few shots of this magnificent scene; it didn't last long but i was glad the snow was still on the ground and on the trees; it adds another element to the already grandiose scene

  • In 2003, I treated my family visiting us from the East Coast to a trip to Yosemite in the wintertime; God was with us and provide a blanket of snow on the whole valley; even it still snowed when I took this image, the hood i had on was enough to protect the front lens element from the humidity; the whole day was a love affair with God's creation in this place, an experience I could never forget; if one has to visit Yosemite, winter time after a snowstorm gotta be the best of all times.

  • The massive rocks in the background are Seal Rocks; they're located just a few hundred feet from Ocean beach, West San Francisco; this was taken about half an hour after sunset in December; the smoothed out water surface didn't show the full effect but the wind was strong on this evening and the surf treacherous; i had to hold the tripod very tight and hang my backpack underneath it to pin it down; a few minutes later, the water was at my ankle; i managed to shoot a few shots and like this one best due to its snow like water formation

  • This is the Cliff House and Ocean beach located on the West side of San Francisco; on this late afternoon, i set out to shoot the sunset around the area, and as the last sun rays dipped below the water surface, i saw the lights in the Cliff House lit up and saw this wonderful opportunity of mixing human light to God's light; i also wanted to make sure the slow speed smoothed out the water flow around the rocks to a silky soft effect; the color version is attractive no less but i have this knack for BW lately thus the conversion.

  • This was taken by Michael Meissner on July 09, 2006 12:36:37 with an Olympus E-1 camera and an Olympus 50-200mm lens at the Stone Zoo in Stoneham, Massachusetts. We had gone to the zoo for their bird show, and went to the otter tank before the show. I didn't even realize this guy had stuck out his tongue until I was post processing the photos afterwards.

  • This was taken in 2003: that year a snowstorm had dumped a few feet of snow in the valley; i decided to go anyway for i 've never shot snow in Yosemite even though i 've gone there many times earlier; this shot was taken on a wooden bridge straddling the Merced river; snowfall subsided a bit here but another storm was brewing above; from the corner of my eye, i saw this family playing in the snow and liked the colors in contrast to the mostly monochrome scene, and also the human perspective in regards to nature, so included them without further thought; i also like how the water was so calm and so limpid, perhaps a bit frozen by the cold
